The Brindled Beauty (Lycia hirtaria) is a species of moth in the Geometridae family.

This species is widespread in the south of Britain, inhabiting woodlands and gardens in the Spring. The pattern on the forewing is highly variable, but there are usually distinctive dark crosslines and bands. There is usually golden-yellow markings to the wings too. There is a form which is almost completly black form is rare, and found only in the South West.
