The Brown-tail (Euproctis chrysorrhoea) is a moth in the Lymantriidae family. This species is similar to the Yellow-tail (E. similis) , but differs from it from a few points. This species' forewings are entirely white, except sometimes males have a few small brown dots on trailing corner. The abdoment is white except for the brown-tip, which it drops under it's wings if it's disturbed, whereas the Yellow-tail will raise it's abdomen. This species is local in Britain.
