The Cep (Boletus edulis), otherwise known as the Penny-Bun, is a species of fungus belonging to the Boletus genus.

The fruiting body of this fungus has a cap which is hemispherical in shape, and it is usually pale red to chestnut brown, but more rarely has a brown or black cap instead. The stem is bulbous and is a brownish-red colour, especially near the tip of the stem, and the flesh is white with no discolouration. It is found in coniferous woodland, especially under firs and pines, and is often found at higher altitudes.
