The Common Walnut (Juglans Regia), Has been in Britain since the occupation of the Romans. It grows vigoruously in Southern Englandand grows up to 60ft in height. Walnut is the old english word for 'Foreign Nut'. It got this name beacause it was introduced from Gaul and Italy. It has a long history of folk use for cancer treatments.
