The Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) was introduced to Britain during the 19th century in the year of 1827. This was achieved by famous plant collector and explorer, David Douglas. This tree can be found in Scotland and Wales. It is a very valuable timber-producing tree managing to grow to heights of 98ft (30m).
