he Early Thorn (Selenia dentaria) is a species of moth in the Geometridae family. This species flies from February to May, hence its English name, but then has a second generation from July-September. This species inhabits woodlands and gardens, and often comes to light. This species is one of the few moths, and the only thorn (Ennomos & Selenia) to hold its wings together.
When the Early Thorn is active. N.B the second generation is generally smaller and brighter than the first.
