The Essex Emerald (Thetidia smaragdaria) is a species of moth in the Geometridae family.

This species was once classed as a Red Data Book species in Britain, but it is now thought to be extinct in Britain, as there have been no records of breeding in Britain since the 1990's. This light green moth is similar in size to other species of emeralds. There are two white crosslines and a a white dot on each forewing.
