The Festoon (Apoda limacodes) is a species of moth in the Limacodidae family.
A rather small moth, this species reaches just over a cm in length. a bright orange colour, this species is sometimes more orange. There is a distinctive bordered band which goes across the forewing. The abdomen is curved.
Classed as Nationally Scarce B in Britain, this species is found in woodlands in Dorset, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Wiltshire, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. The odd record occurs elsewhere.
The larvae feed on oaks and beech. They are a distinctive disc-shaped larvae, with red-skimmed yellow lines running across the body.
