Native scots pine

Scot's Pine forest

The Scots Pine (Pinus Sylvestris), is a coniferous tree native to the Caledonian forests of Scotland, planted all over in forestry plantations, for the timber. Contrary to popular belief, Scots pine was native to many parts of Britain, though there are no natural Scots Pine forests in Britain anymore, except for the caledonian forests of Scotland.

Description[]

This tree can grow to be over 120 feet high and has paired pine needles 2-3 inches in length. The lower bark is fissured with the upper bark a warm red colour.
