Formica fusca is a species of ant found in Britain.
This species is a large black ant, and is found in southern England. The workers can reach 1cm in length, and the nests, which are relatively small contain 500-2,000 worker ants. Each nest will have several queens, which seem to have an unequal contribution to the nest.
