The Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) or White Shark, is a species of Shark.

This famous species is thought to be a rare vagrant to Britain. British waters mirror those of which the Great White Shark inhabits, and it suprises some scientists that there is no established populations. This large shark, made famous from films such as "Jaws", hunts species such as sea lions, seals, squids, rays and turtles. It is also thought that the Great White may be warm blooded. If so, this means that the great white is more than capable of surviving in British waters.

This shark can reach over 6m in length, and has a grey upper half and a white lower half, for camouflage.
