The Least Owlet (Scythris siccella) is a moth in the Scythrididae family.
This small moth has a wingspan of about 9mm, and is dark brown.
Found only on Chesil Beach in Dorset, this small moth grey-brown and flies during the day. This species is one of Britain rarest moths, as other than Chesil Beach, the only record is from Suffolk, but that one is extremly old.
Restricted in Britain to a single site in Dorset, this species is having conservation work done by Butterfly Conservation. In 2009 there was a count of 6 larval tubes, however in 2010 there were 14 larval tubes and 8 adults counted, and in 2011 there were 48 larval tubes recorded.
