The Light Arches (Apamea lithoxylaea) is a moth in the Noctuidae family.

This species is widespread in Britain, and often attracted to light and sugar. This species has a length of 18-23mm, and has light, straw coloured wings. It has a wingspan of 43-50 mm.

This species flies from Late June-August.

Usually single brooded from June to mid-August. Sometimes a partial second brood in September to November.

The larva feeds on various grasses, especially the stems and roots
