The Light Feathered Rustic (Agrotis cinerea) is a species of moth in the Noctuidae family.
This medium-sized moth is usually a sandy-white in colour, and has several dark crosslines, which, in some forms, stand out strongly. The kidney mark is small and the oval mark is absent. Some forms are a dark brown. This species flies in early Summer.
This species is classed as Nationally Scarce in Britain, and is restricted to limestone and chalk grasslands in southern and central England and Wales, with the odd record from Ireland.
The larvea feed on Wild Thyme and can be seen from June, and overwinters as a larvea before pupating.
