The Lilac Beauty (Apeira syringaria) is a species of moth in the Geometridae family.This species is local in Britain, inhabiting woodlands and gardens in the Southern half of Britain and Ireland. Easily identified by it's unique resting posture, which has the forewings slightly raised and the leading edge of the wings curled. The ridge of the hindwing is scalloped. The brown wings have lilac markings, hence the name. There is a bold crossline running across the wings.
