The Lombardy Poplar (Populus nigra italia) is tall, thin species of tree orginating from Lombardy in Italy
The tree is tall and thin growing up to 100ft, it's leaves around roughly triangular, broader than they are wide. It is a hardy tree and can be grown in a polluted enviroment. The majority of the trees in England are male, producing only the red male catkins.
In it's search for water the tree will bore even through concrete.
The Lombardy Poplar has no commercial use, due to it's branches being so small and thin.
