he Muslin Moth (Diaphora mendica) is a species of moth in the Arctiidae family.

This species is common in the South and Central of Britain, becoming scarcer further North. The males of this species are a grey-brown colour, except in Ireland, where they are a buff colour. The females are white. Moth males and females have several small black dots.

When handled the Muslin Moth will play dead. The male flies at night, and is attracted to light, and the female is active by day, and can be found crawling in vegetation.
