Orange Moth - D Shenton

The Orange Moth (Angerona prunaria) is a species of moth in the Geometridae family. This species is local in Britain, inhabiting woodlands in the southern half of Britain. This large moth is easily identified by its colour, and orange or yellow-orange, with a dotted edge to the wings. This species is about 5cm in width when resting. There are forms which are brown with orange or orange-yellow patches. The males are generally smaller and brighter.
