This species is a fairly large micro moth, and has a wingspan reaching 3cm. The moth is mostly white, but has a red border on the costa of the wing. The wings often appear semi-transparent.
This species is a immigrant to Britain, mostly occuring in southern England in Autumn, though can be seen during Summer, and has been recorded in Scotland, Wales and Ireland as well as England.
Abroad, the larvea feed on Jasmine and Olive, though this species has not been known to breed in Britain.
