The Southern Chestnut (Agrochola haematidae) is a species of moth in the Noctuidae family.
A rather small, dark red moth, similar in shape to the Flounced Chestnut, this species has pale kidney and oval marks, and a darker head and thorax than the wings. This species flies in Autumn.
This species is a Red Data Book species, and is known from heathlands in Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset.
The larvae feed on Bell Heather, but not Heather.
