Southern Marsh Orchid

Southern Marsh Orchid -

The Southern Marsh Orchid (Dactylorhiza praetermissa) is found in wetlands of the south and central of Britain.

Like many other species of Orchids, they have a purple flower. When you reach the North of it's range, it is replaced by the Northern Marsh Orchid, though in some places they overlap.

This species flowers from May-June. This plant can grow up to 70cm tall.
