Acentria ephemerella - Water Veneer

The Water Veneer (Acentria ephemerella) is a species of moth in the Crambidae family.

This wierd moth is widespread other most of Britain, found in around water sources. There are two forms of the female, a winged form, which is similar to the males, and has wings which appear to have no scales. This wings are a grey-white. The other form is wingless, and spends it's time under water.

The larvea are also found underwater, and feed on a variety of pondweeds, including Canadian Pondweed.
